Palcoyo Mountain 1 Day
Palcoyo is a set of Rainbow mountains, this fact is one of the clearest differences with regard to the Vinicunca mountain that has only one colorful mountain.
As in the Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain, an extraordinary geological process aligned the different strata of the earth in multicolored layers creating a unique effect. From the Palcoyo viewpoint you can see the 3 colored mountains in all their magnitude and solitary immensity. In the same place there is a curious stone forest, which, as its name suggests, consists of rock peaks the height of trees that look like a true geological labyrinth.

Itinerary
1 Day:Cusco – Checacupe – Palcoyo – Cusipata
Our tour begins with the pick up from the hotel from 6:30 to 7:00 am, and then we go to the town of Checacupe (approx. 2 hours). Arriving at this small and picturesque town we will have free time to use the restrooms, buy hydrating drinks and snacks . Then we will continue our trip for 1 additional hour to the starting point of the walk, the community of Palcoyo (4200 masl).
The adventure begins with an impressive view of the Stone Forest and in turn some colorful mountains that will indicate that we are already very close to the Cordillera de Colores. After an introduction by our guide, we will begin our walk. The ascent will be pleasant and will last approximately 30 minutes. During the journey we will observe a great variety of South American camelids and reaching the top we will be able to appreciate the Imposing Apu Ausangate (6380 approx.).
This place is also unique and magical since nature capriciously formed this landscape, that is where we handle the respective explanation of the place, then the offering ceremony to Pachamama and of course free time for photographs, enjoy and explore the Cordilleras de Colores and the Stone Forest. After enjoying a quiet moment in contact with nature and the Apus (spirits of the Mountains) we will begin our return to the town of Cusipata where we will have lunch. Later we will return to the city of Cusco ending our tour at approximately 5:00 p.m.
