The Moray Archaeological Complex served as an agricultural laboratory. His stage has floors in a circular shape, as if they were an amphitheater inside a hole. In addition, its system of terraces presents enigmatic terraces, which are more than one and a half meters deep.

Maras is located in the province of Cusco and is one of the most outstanding attractions in the region. It is made up of about 3,000 small wells, with an approximate area of about 5 m² each. In times of drought these are filled with salt water that comes from a natural spring that is located above the wells.

Itinerary

Half Day:Tour Maras - Moray

We will pick you up at 08:00 am. from your hotel. The tour begins with a visit to the textile center of Chinchero and then to the colonial town of Maras. From Maras, we continue to the nearby Inca site of Moray, a magnificent series of terraced circles set into the ground that were once used by the Incas to experiment with crops. Our final destination is the salt mines that have been in use since pre-Inca times. Water from an underground stream is channeled through pools where it evaporates, leaving crystals of pure salt. With thousands of deep white pools stretching across the valley, the views are incredible. We will finish the tour at approximately 03:00 pm.
