The Colca Valley and Canyon are one of the most beautiful areas in Peru; where you will find andean terraces built by the Collaguas and Cabanas, the two distinct ethnic groups in the Colca Valley. This zone presents 16 villages, these are: Sibayo, Callalli, Tuti, Canocota, Chivay, Coporaque, Yanque, Ichupampa, Achoma, Lari, Maca, Madrigal, Cabanaconde, Pinchollo, Tapay and Huambo towns; in all this area you will find colonial churches and gently people. In Chivay you will find “La Calera” hot springs, with recognized medicinal properties of importance. Also it’s possible to enjoy them in the villages of: Sibayo, Yanque and Llahuar

Itinerary
Day 1:Arequipa - Chivay Valley - Colca Canyon
We will pick you up at your hotel very early to leave Arequipa towards the city of Chivay, on a 3-hour road trip. Let’s say that the Colca Canyon full day begins with the arrival in Yanque where we will have our breakfast. From here, more spare parts for getting up early and the long trip, we will continue our journey to the Cruz del Cóndor, a nesting place for these birds that can measure up to 3 m with their wings outstretched. We will be able to visit the viewpoint and observe them in flight. Then, we will continue by vehicle through Choquetico, Maca and Antahuilque, a viewpoint where we will be able to appreciate the Colca Valley in all its splendor and the pre-Inca terraces that are used to plant grains and other crops to this day.
The next stop is the Chacapi hot springs to relax for an hour. Later, we will go again to Chivay, where we will stop for lunch in a tourist restaurant (S/ 40 per person). After this, we will take our vehicle to start the return trip to Arequipa, but not before making a couple of stops at the Mirador de los Volcanes, located at 4800 altitude and from where you have a privileged view of the volcanoes that surround the zone. In the same way, we will stop at the Pampa Cañahuas National Reserve, a wetland where you can see vicuñas and alpacas. Later, we will not stop until we reach the center of Arequipa, where our tour ends.
*During the visit to the Cóndores viewpoint, you will have the possibility to take advantage of the time in that place, or visit the Pinchollo lagoon, where you can observe Andean birds and a cactus forest.
