The Sacred Valley gathers thousands of places for all tastes, such as Písac, Ollantaytambo, Urubamba, Chinchero, Yucay, Maras, Moray, Aguas Calientes, among others. Most tours offer trips by bus and train, with stops at the main archaeological complexes, visits to markets and adventure sports.
Named for being the main supplier of food to the Inca empire, El Valle Sagrado sits on the banks of the Urubamba River. This river in its beginnings has the name of Vilcanota, which comes from the Quechua word Wilcamayu or Sacred River.
The tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas begins with the pick up from the hotels between 6:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. depending on the location of your hotel.
Then we head north of the city of Cusco for 40 minutes until we reach Chinchero, the highest place on the tour (3762 meters), once we reach this picturesque place, we will visit the archaeological center, we will also have the option of seeing people local doing their daily life and textile and craft centers.
Then we will continue to the next place, Moray, this place was an agricultural experimentation center, like a type of greenhouse for the Incas, this gigantic place is located in a natural geographical depression, this makes it very different from other places.
The next stop will be in the town of Maras to then access the Salineras, this place is something that can be seen only in a few places in the world, there are more than 3000 pools of this special mineral that are exploited so far by people local with ancestral techniques.
Then we will continue to Urubamba, a city where we will have free time for lunch, then we will continue to Ollantaytambo, the largest city in the entire area, this place is known as the Living Inca City, here we can find local people who come down from the highlands to do shopping.
Then we go to the last place to visit Pisaq, this is another Inca city where we will find gigantic agricultural terraces made from the top to the slopes of the mountain, water sources for ceremonial purposes and various Inca constructions.
Upon return to Cusco (7:00 p.m. approx.), we will drop you off one street from the Plaza de Armas, this because at this moment we have enough traffic to take you back to your hotel.
